Bondy Construction & Design is a Southeast Michigan–based design-build firm specializing in custom homes, townhome communities, and multi-family development. We believe successful projects are built on disciplined planning, thoughtful design, and controlled execution.

Our approach begins with strategy. Every development starts with a clear understanding of market demand, site constraints, financial objectives, and long-term asset performance. By integrating design, budgeting, and construction under one roof, we reduce inefficiencies, protect timelines, and maintain cost control from concept through completion.

We believe quality construction and strong returns are not mutually exclusive. Thoughtful layouts, durable materials, energy-efficient systems, and cohesive architectural design contribute not only to curb appeal, but to long-term value, lease stability, and resale strength.

Consistency drives results. We work with a trusted network of experienced trades — many with over 15 years in their respective fields — allowing us to maintain high standards across every build while delivering predictable outcomes.

COMPANY HISTORY

Founder, Tom Bondy, invested much of his early adult life around new construction, specifically in residential lighting. In 1996, Tom completed his first custom home, a 3,400 sq ft colonial on 3 acres. This became the home that he and his wife raised their family of five in. From 1997 to 2008, Tom built custom homes in Northern Monroe County. His oldest son, Luke, spent much of his early years working in and around new construction as the Bondy’s built many new homes in their local community.

In 2012 Bondy Construction purchased 28 vacant lots in South Rockwood and built custom homes on each lot. After an unexpected passing of Tom Bondy in 2016, Luke Bondy took over and finished the last 20 homes while managing other construction projects throughout Southeast Michigan. More recently Bondy Construction completed an 11-unit, 16-unit, 12-unit, and 10-unit townhome development in Detroit’s up-and-coming New Center & North Corktown neighborhoods. With more mixed-use and townhome projects planned, Bondy Construction continues to offer general contracting services in a unique niche focused on small to mid-sized developments in Detroit & the surrounding cities.

Luke Bondy | CEO

Entrepreneur and builder with a track record of constructing or renovating more than 140 homes across Southeast Michigan. Since 2019, he has concentrated on targeted Detroit neighborhoods, leading over $40M in multifamily developments. Luke holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration–Finance and is passionate about creating lasting community impact—whether through a single home or large-scale projects. Beyond real estate, he is actively involved in his local church, serves on the Board of New Hope Initiative as Treasurer and shares a passion for empowering people in some of the world’s most impoverished communities.
